Every week, MEN-TALK.UK hosts a series of open door meetings for anyone who wants to enjoy  a cup of tea or coffee and discuss how their week has been, any troubles or frustrations that they feel they want to get off their chest. It is also an opportunity for everyone to listen to others, learn from their experiences and offer their own advice if they feel they want to.

Meetings occur at the Head Health Hub in Sheerness and are entirely free.

MEN-TALK.UK is about getting men to talk openly about everyday issues and pressures. This site is not an emergency contact centre. If you are in crisis or need to talk to professionals urgently, the Samaritans are available at the end of a phone. Whatever you’re going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Call the Samaritans on 116 123 if you need help or visit samaritans.org

What is our mission?

I am determined to cut the stigma attached to men talking about their mental health, enabling men to understand and listen to others about their health too.

Who am I?

My name is Ryan Thompson. I am currently a personal trainer with an extensive background in social work following 14 years with several local authorities.

Why?

Personally, I’ve seen it from both sides, as a professional and patient. Mental health is raw, hidden and for many disguised by drink, drugs gambling or other reckless behaviours that are deemed destructive.
